UK GMTV host Kate Garraway has been rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis, according to a report. The Daily Mail claims that the presenter was admitted earlier today and will now be forced to miss a trip to Bristol to cover the second Leaders' Debate. It is thought that newsreader Helen Fospero has been asked to front GMTV's coverage of the election event in Garraway's place.
Earlier today, it was reported that Fospero is likely to become a main GMTV anchor when Adrian Chiles joins the show later this year. The future of GMTV's presenting team has been uncertain since January after bosses confirmed that "all areas" of the breakfast programme were under review.
